Global Entertainment He’s been working on it nearly two years, but today, Nathan Sykes is finally releasing his debut solo album, Unfinished Business, in the U.S.
While Nathan’s first success in the music business came as a member of the British boy band The Wanted, it’s been so long since the group went their separate ways that he’s considered “new” artist — which he’s fine with.
“I think it’s a massive compliment that people are treating me as a new artist because I purposely took my time to make this record and kind of re-introduce myself as an artist,” Nathan, who recently wrapped up a tour with Alessia Cara, tells ABC Radio.
“Obviously, I think it’s amazing that the band had such a great following and I’ve got a lot of support from that,” he adds. “But then, at the same time, there’s new people every single day kind of hearing my music and being, like, ‘Who’s this guy? I’ve never heard of him before.'” (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)
Depending on which version you buy, Nathan’s album will feature all the singles he’s released over the last two years, including “Over and Over Again,” his duet with his ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande. Among his collaborators on the disc are legendary songwriters Diane Warren and Babyface.
