Kelly Clarkson’s Making a Christmas “Miracle” Tonight in Nashville

Courtesy Starstruck EntertainmentKelly Clarkson‘s staging a Christmas “miracle” tonight in Nashville.  She’s hosting Miracle on Broadway, a holiday benefit concert at the Bridgestone Arena which will raise money for local charities.  “Everybody’s community would get better if we all chipped in,” she notes.

Tonight’s concert will benefit the Nashville Public Library Fund, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, the W.O. Smith Music School and Abe’s Garden, an Alzheimer’s and Memory Care Center. As Kelly says, “It’s a fun thing, and you’re giving money to go see a show…you’re texting while you’re there to give a dollar — [and] you have no idea how far that will go.”

And for her fans who can’t attend, Kelly says, “Find something you can do something in your own community, because that’s how we all get better as a world.”

She laughs, “That was, like, such a pageant answer!”

Kelly started Miracle on Broadway in 2014, but couldn’t have the concert last year because, as she puts it, she has “the worst pregnancies ever.” The Grammy winner says she’s “super-excited” about tonight’s show, which will feature top country music talent.

Following the show, Kelly says, she’s “shutting down” for the year. “It’s just family time,” she says. “I think that’s really important for our community too, because if don’t invest in your family, who are you gonna invest in?”

Kelly, who adores Christmas, says she’s looking forward to having everyone “all get together,” especially the kids.  She and husband Brandon Blackstock have four between them — including two under the age of three —  and she says, “Christmas with children is, like, next-level amazing.”

“They’re just, you know, fascinated by the wrapping paper,” laughs Kelly. “I’m like, ‘Aw, I should’ve just gotten you a box! I shouldn’t have spent the money on that!’”
