ABC/Randy HolmesIt may be tough for Mariah Carey to forget about her failed engagement to Australian billionaire James Packer — mainly because her wedding planning is featured prominently in her upcoming E! docu-series, Mariah’s World. The singer tells Entertainment Tonight that re-watching that footage is “bittersweet.”
The show will include scenes of Mariah trying on her wedding dress, among other preparations. “All of those moments are bittersweet,” she says. “But you just have to focus on whatever you’re focusing on and keep it moving.”
Mariah and James got engaged in January, with James bestowing on the singer a 35-carat diamond ring. They broke it off in October and it’s still unclear who will get to keep the ring.
But aside from showing scenes of a wedding that was not to be, Mariah says the show will portray a side of her fame that not many people get to see.
“The stories [are] interesting because it shows the side of the entertainment world that’s not just the celebrity [aspect],” she explains to ET. “It’s real [and] I don’t feel like it feels like a scripted kind of reality [show] whatsoever.”
Mariah’s World premieres December 4.
