The Australian singer has released a new song called “Never Give Up,” the theme for the new drama Lion, arriving in theaters November 25.
Based on a true story, the movie stars Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel as an Indian guy who was adopted as a child by an Australian family, but who then looks for his birth parents using Google Earth. Rooney Mara plays his girlfriend. Mara is also the star of the upcoming movie Vox Lux, for which Sia is writing the music.
This year, Sia has already written “Sledgehammer,” sung by Rihanna, for Star Trek: Beyond; sung “Unforgettable” for the Finding Dory soundtrack; and recorded a new song called “Waving Goodbye” for the Neon Demon soundtrack. She also wrote “Telepathy,” a song for Christina Aguilera for the soundtrack of the TV series The Get Down.
Next year, Sia will contribute songs to an animated film called Charming, and another movie based on the My Little Pony TV series.
